CHARLOTTE — Residents are pushing back against a project that would bring hundreds of apartments to Steele Creek.

The project would be built on the land currently owned by the Piedmont Kennel Club on Choate Circle.
Toll Brothers wants to build 350 apartments.
However, residents, including the Steele Creek Athletic Association, are concerned about the impact.
“I do think they are a great builder, but I think you have to look at the use of the property and how it affects the surrounding neighbors,” said Jen Kelly, SCAA.
Kelly and the SCAA are concerned about water runoff and increased traffic.
The developer said they will work with the youth sports league on the issues.
The Charlotte City Council could vote on the project as soon as September.
