Restaurant suffers smoke damage after kitchen fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A kitchen fire filled a northwest Charlotte restaurant with heavy smoke.

The Stockyard Grill on Rozzelles Ferry Road was closed when the fire started around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. No one was inside at the time.

Smoke did damage the neighboring bar Savoy.

Firefighters haven't said the exact cause of the fire.
