WASHINGTON — Rev. Franklin Graham, son of the Rev. Billy Graham, will speak Friday at President-elect Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony.
Ken Garfield, a local religious historian, expects his comments will be different from those in his father's many inaugural appearances.
Rev. Billy Graham counseled many presidents, but he tried to stay out of politics.

Garfield says Franklin Graham is partisan and has made it clear that he supports Trump, while stopping short of an outright endorsement.
“I'm not sure if he will lean on Franklin Graham for spiritual advice, or I suspect he will lean on him for political support and use him as an ally, as he will use other people in and out of religion to support his cause and agenda,” Garfield said.
Inauguration coverage will be on Channel 9. ABC's coverage starts at 7 a.m. after Eyewitness News daybreak and runs through 4 p.m.
