BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Carolinas Healthcare BlueRidge said hospitalizations are at an all-time high for COVID-19 patients in Burke County. There are reportedly more than 50 COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized at the hospital with more than a dozen in the ICU.

Channel 9′s Dave Faherty spoke with nurse manager Amanda Klause who works with COVID patients at the hospital.

“Because they are so distraught with the death and devastation, people are walking away from healthcare,” Klause said.
