ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Rock Hill Police Department has arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a deadly shooting Thursday that investigators say happened during an attempted robbery.
Officers responded to reports of several gunshots in the 1100 block of Springdale Road around 10:45 p.m. Thursday.
Detectives determined that 18-year-old Jeremiah Tolliver, who was killed, had allegedly conspired with Ka’darius Rishon Turner-Hansley to rob the victim.
Police say Tolliver shot at the victim while attempting to rob him, and the victim returned fire, killing Tolliver.
Turner-Hansley allegedly fled the scene following the shooting. Detectives obtained warrants for his arrest and took him into custody Friday.
Turner-Hansley, of Rock Hill, is charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, armed robbery with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Police say the murder charge is based on Turner-Hansley’s alleged participation in a felony that resulted in the death of his accomplice. His bond hearing is scheduled for Saturday in Rock Hill Municipal Court.
On Saturday, Rock Hill police announced they made another arrest in connection to the shooting.
According to investigators, Christopher Thompson Jr. conspired with Turner-Hansley and Tolliver to rob a man.
Thompson turned himself in on Saturday. He’s charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
