A Russia-based anti-virus company sued the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on Monday.
Kaspersky Lab is one of the world's most popular anti-virus companies, with more than 400 million users.
DHS officials said they worried it could allow Russian intelligence to access sensitive information on computers.
Earlier this year, Action 9 reporter Jason Stoogenke reported that DHS ordered all federal agencies to stop using Kaspersky Lab software.

Officials said even if Kaspersky Lab isn't working with the Kremlin, Russian law could force the company to hand over the information.
Kaspersky Lab’s lawsuit claims that DHS relied on unsubstantiated news reports from The Rachel Maddow Show and Fox News when it issued the ban.

The lawsuit reads in part, "DHS confirmed in its final decision that it has no evidence of any such breach or wrongdoing on the part of Kaspersky Lab … DHS roundly ignores its obligation to produce any meaningful and specific evidence against plaintiffs."
