The lawsuit says the ongoing dispute over the solar panel manufacturer does not consider the “health and safety” of students and staff at nearby Fort Mill schools.
Channel 9 reported in October that the school board voted to file the lawsuit after an emergency meeting. Parents have raised concerns over the chemicals used at the plant.
In July, a judge affirmed a York County zoning board ruling that said solar panel manufacturing is prohibited in a light industrial district.
However, the judge did not order Silfab to stop production involving chemicals.
The school district is now asking for legal clarification over the zoning issues.
