CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The family of a Virginia teen found dead behind a local church will be in Charlotte on Saturday for a special service.
Ashanti Billie disappeared Sept. 18, 2017. Her body was found 11 days later behind East Stonewall AME Zion Church in northwest Charlotte.

Police arrested Eric Brown in November 2017 in connection with her murder.

A representative for the family told Channel 9 that the church where she was found is holding a special dedication for the family in Ashanti’s honor.
