Theme park designer, and Raleigh resident, Bob Baranick announced plans to break ground next year on an amusement park called '”Whirligig Woods.”
The land for the 21-acre park has been purchased near Chapel Hill.
Baranick said he plans to open the park in 2019, and then open a second and third theme park in the state.
Baranick helped design Disney World Parks.
