LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Several roads in Lancaster County remain closed Tuesday after flooding in the area on Monday.
Emergency management officials said the following roads are closed to through traffic:
- Carnes Wilson Road
- Deer Track Circle
- Gills Creek Drive
- Hough Road
- Logging Road
- Doster Road
They are closed because of damage to the roadways and shoulders from heavy flooding several miles east of the city of Lancaster, officials said.
SCDOT and Lancaster County Public Works are evaluating the damage, developing plans and beginning repairs where possible, officials said. The efforts are being hampered by continuing rainfall in the area Tuesday. No additional flooding has been reported.
There is no definite timeframe for reopening the roads, officials said.
