CHARLOTTE — Several people are without power due to a tractor-trailer colliding with a power pole in Uptown Charlotte Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred just before 1:30 a.m. on West Morehead Street near South Clarkson Street.

Originally, Duke Energy’s power outage map showed just under 900 customers without power.

However, by 6 a.m., that number had been reduced to less than 70 customers without power.

The estimated time of restoration isn’t expected until around 6 p.m., according to Duke Energy.

Channel 9 is currently at the scene as crews continue to work on repairing the power pole.
