KINSTON, N.C. — A child died in a fire that broke out early Sunday at a mobile home in Kinston, authorities said.
Emergency medical workers treated three other people at the scene of the fire, according to a news release posted on the Lenoir County Sheriff Office’s Facebook page.

Officials didn’t immediately release the name and age of the child who died in the fire.
“Our hearts go out to this family which lost a young person in this tragedy this morning,” Lenoir County Sheriff Ronnie Ingram said in a statement. “We ask that our community pray for this family in its time of need.”
WRAL-TV reports that the mobile home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 1:30 a.m.
Lenoir County officials are investigating the fire with assistance from the State Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
