Shoppers brave cold for final items on shopping lists

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It appears this cold snap didn't stop shoppers from hitting the mall to pick up those last minute gift items, just six days before Christmas.

In fact many shoppers at Charlotte premium outlets weren't even wearing jackets

"Once the snow hits the ground I'll probably put on a jacket," Chris Chavis, shopper, said.

"I'd usually be in shorts right now but it's a little too cold for that," Chavis added.

"Actually I have a jacket in my bag I didn't even want to wear it," Kyler Griffin, another shopper, said.

We barely made it to 50 degrees in Charlotte Saturday but managers at the Premium Outlets told Channel 9 the deals were simply too hot to keep shoppers away.

"They've been out they've been bundled up but they've been taking advantage of the great sales that are out there right now," Sharon Campbell, GM, Charlotte premium outlets said.

Channel 9 was here on Black Friday when shoppers told us parking was a nightmare at the outlets.

We found some people were forced to leave their car on the curb.
But nearly a month later it appears management has ironed out the parking problem.

"We do have additional parking that we've worked with landowners around the complex that's given us some additional lots to use," Campbell said.
