Police: Gaston County 17-year-old found safe after Silver Alert issued

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A teenager has been found safe after he was reported missing in Gaston County, police said.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for 17-year-old Jesse Alexander Perez Tuesday.

Officials said Perez, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, may be in danger.

Perez is described as about 6 feet, one inch tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has long, curly black hair and brown eyes.

Police said the teen was last seen on Monterrey Park Drive in Gastonia wearing a black jacket, black jeans, black shoes and a black hat.

Police confirmed to Channel 9 that Perez was found safe and was in the process of reuniting with his family.
