According to our partners at the Charlotte Observer, airport officials said this happened Thursday morning on a flight going to Columbia, South Carolina.
The Charlotte Fire Department reportedly responded and a flight attendant was taken to the hospital.
Close to 50 passengers got off the plane and onto another one.
