SoFi plans 225 jobs in Charlotte with potential tax breaks

CHARLOTTE — Mecklenburg County Commissioners will vote on tax breaks for a fintech company that wants to create a regional hub in Charlotte.

SoFi is planning 225 jobs in Ballantyne.

Commissioners will vote Tuesday whether to give them a little more than $39,000 in tax breaks over the next five years.

Mecklenburg County competed with Jacksonville and Frisco, Texas for the project.
