UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Concerning COVID-19 trends have led North Carolina health leaders and Gov. Roy Cooper to reach out directly to school districts across the state.
They wrote a letter urging any district with a mask-optional policy to mandate them instead. One of the districts that got the letter was Union County.

The county is one of the largest districts in the state and will be back to school next week.
