COLUMBIA, S.C. — A new bill just introduced in South Carolina's House would allow gun sales to fund police in schools.
If passed, it would add a 7 percent charge to handgun sales.
That money would go towards a school safety fund for school resource officers.
Education department officials said it would take $60 million to have an officer in every public school in the state.
