The affluent enclave in south Charlotte that includes Ballantyne, Piper Glen and Providence Crossing is among the hottest spots in the nation for homebuying, according to an analysis by Realtor.com.

To determine its rankings, Realtor.com analyzed listings data for more than 29,000 ZIP codes across the U.S. from January through June of this year, limiting its consideration to those with at least 15 active listings per month. It looked at demand, as measured by unique viewers per property on Realtor.com, and the pace of the market based on the number of days a listing remains active on the site.
The local 28277 ZIP code came in at No. 33 on the list of 50.
The median listing price in that ZIP was pegged at $560,000 in the report, higher than Charlotte’s overall median listing price of about $425,000, according to Realtor.com.
