South End retailer to close after more than two decades

CHARLOTTE — Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse will close in South End later this month.

That 20,000-square-foot store at 2408 South Blvd. will shutter on June 27. It has been open since 1998.

“Our lease was not up and we had no plans on vacating the building,” says Brenda Christmon, a spokeswoman for Rack Room Shoes. “It was strictly a landlord decision.”
