Southwest Charlotte bridge to be replaced

CHARLOTTE — A 50-year-old bridge is getting replaced in southwest Charlotte.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has awarded a $6.8 million contract to replace the Shotpton Road bridge over Coffee Creek near Beam Road.

Work is expected to begin as early as January 2026 and should be completed by the summer.
