STATESVILLE, N.C. — The Statesville City Council approved changes to its utility services policy after years of residents complaining about outrageously high bills.
City officials said they're changing the required deposit from a two-month average to one month.
They also agreed to let customers sign up for an equal payment plan if they have no prior outstanding balances.
And there will no longer be a cost for an extension to pay a bill.
