Statesville officials consider waiving years-old parking tickets

STATESVILLE, N.C. — Statesville city leaders will decide Monday whether to forgive those who received a parking ticket but haven't paid it in more than seven years.

The city is considering forgiving more than $37,000 in overdue bills.

That translates into more than 2,700 violations that would be erased.

The tickets would have to have been issued before May 1, 2008.

According to our partners at The Record and Landmark, the city will vote on the issue Monday night.
