OAK ISLAND, N.C. — A plane that crash landed off Oak Island last year is getting a second life.
Students at Cape Fear Community College will get to use it for hands-on training.
Recently, the plane was moved into a hangar.
The plane’s owner says donating it has given it a new purpose.
Instructor Jason Justice says the plane also gives students a chance to study how saltwater affects aircraft metals, and learn how to properly treat the damage.
