CHARLOTTE — Summit Coffee has growth on its radar, with nine new cafes planned over the next two years.
The 25-year-old Davidson company is set to become one of the largest specialty coffee brands in the Southeast. Current expansion is planned for Charlotte, Atlanta and Charleston, South Carolina. It will open a bakery this month to supply all of its Charlotte-area stores with sweet treats such as croissants, danishes, scones and cookies.
Summit expects to have 25 cafes open by the end of 2025, as well as its certified organic coffee roasting and distribution business. It is a member of 1% For The Planet, and its roastery is certified climate neutral.
