CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says a person has been arrested for murder after a person was killed in a stabbing Sunday night in northeast Charlotte.
Officers said they located a victim suffering from life-threatening injuries after responding to an assault with deadly weapon call on North Tryon Street around 9 p.m. The person was taken to the hospital, where police said they died Monday morning.
On Wednesday, CMPD said Jesus Delgado Ibarra was arrested on suspicion of murder.
A possible motive wasn’t given for the stabbing.
CMPD identified the victim as 61-year-old Teodulo Pena.

The investigation is active and ongoing, according to CMPD.
