ALL CLEAR: Officials lift no swimming advisory at North Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A no swimming advisory has been lifted at a section of North Myrtle Beach, the Department of Health and Environmental Control reported on Friday.

The advisory was put in place Thursday after high bacteria levels had been detected in a section of the beach at 17th Avenue.

"Bacteria levels no longer exceed water quality standards and activity can resume in this area," Sean Torrens, of DHEC's Pee Dee Environmental Affairs office, said.
