MECKLENBURG, COUNTY, N.C. — A tractor-trailer accident backed up traffic on I-77 southbound in Mecklenburg County Saturday evening.
Crews said the crash happened just after 8:30 p.m.
All southbound lanes were closed as crews cleared the wreck near Gilead Road, at mile marker 23.
The lanes reopened around 5 a.m. Sunday.
Paramedics said there were two people with serious injuries.
Officials said it's not clear what caused the crash.
