CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Hundreds of people in northwest Charlotte lost power early Sunday morning after a tractor-trailer slammed into a power pole.
It happened at Beatties Ford Road near Miranda Road. It took Duke Energy power crews hours to install a new pole and get the lights back on for families.

Some didn’t get their power back on until after 9 a.m.
Channel 9 has been reporting on more and more of these crashes involving power poles. So what’s the reason behind them, and why are we seeing so many crashes involving power poles?
