Transformer blows, traffic lights out in southeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Part of Steele Creek Road and Westinghouse Boulevard is shut down after a transformer malfunctioned.

Channel 9's camera captured sparks falling from the transformer.

Duke Energy is on the scene to fix lines that fell to the ground.

Traffic lights are also out in the area.
