LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A man died after striking a guardrail in his truck in Lincoln County Friday morning, Highway Patrol officials said.
The man was speeding in a pickup truck on Highway 321 at mile marker 30 when he ran off the left side of the road, troopers said.
He overcorrected the truck and ran off the right side of the road and struck the guardrail.
The man was thrown from the truck and died at the scene near the Lincoln and Catawba County line.
Officials will not identify the man until his next of kin has been notified.
