MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The North Carolina Highway Patrol is urging drivers not to travel on roads in the southeastern part of the state due to flooding.

A large majority of those roads will become dangerous as rivers crest over the next few days.
Drivers will also have to find a new route to into Myrtle Beach. The bridge that brings traffic over Lake Busbee on US 501 in Conway is closed.
Officials said travel is not recommended in several counties, including Bladen, Brunswick, Lenoir, and Cumberland.

City officials said Highway 501 has been reduced to the two lanes on 501 business and there is no timeline yet for when the road will re-open.
