MINT HILL, N.C. — A Mint Hill road was blocked in one direction Thursday morning after a truck spilled a load of chicken parts.

The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. on Fairview Road near Interstate 485.
The truck was carrying chicken guts. A Channel 9 crew could see workers hosing off the road in order to reopen it.

Fairview Road was closed at I-485, causing major delays during the morning commute. Police asked drivers entering Mint Hill from Union County to detour around using Rock Hill Church Road to Lawyers Road.
