Police were trying to conduct the traffic stop was on Tuckaseegee Road and said the driver got stuck in traffic on Glenwood Drive, near Interstate 85.

That was when the driver sped away, police said. The officer lost sight of the truck, did not have their blue lights on and did not pursue, according to CMPD.

A short time later the truck crashed into a home on Key Street, slamming through the front door and taking out the side windows.

No one was home at the time.

After the crash, the driver and passenger in the truck ran away and so far nobody has been charged with a crime.

Police told Channel 9 that the truck's owner had loaned it out.
