Pair arrested on meth-related charges after being pulled over in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Two people were arrested on drug-related charges after being pulled over in Lincoln County just after midnight Sunday, deputies said.

Officers said they stopped a car around 12:02 a.m. due to an equipment violation near the intersection of Salem Church Road and Pressley Drive.

After searching the car, deputies found 33 grams of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and a used hypodermic needle.

The driver, Courtney Crowder, 30, was charged with two felony counts of trafficking methamphetamine, one felony count of possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

The passenger, Joshua Cole, 39, was charged with two felony counts of trafficking methamphetamine, one felony count of possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to officials, Cole said they picked up money in Lincolnton and went to a home in Gastonia. where they bought the drugs.

Crowder is being held at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center with a bail set at $200,000. Cole has a bail set at $170,000.

Crowder and Cole’s first court appearance is scheduled for May 11.
