CHARLOTTE — CMPD is investigating after two people were killed near a cookout in University City early Sunday morning.
Officers responded shortly after 3 a.m. today to an assault with a deadly weapon near the 9300 block of Kittansett Drive.
Upon arriving, officers discovered one victim nearby suffering from gunshot wounds and located a second gunshot victim further down the street. MEDIC pronounced both victims deceased at the scene.
CMPD’s homicide unit is investigating.
