MOORESVILLE — The Mooresville Police Department is investigating a Saturday morning shooting that left one person dead.
Police said they found two victims with gunshot wounds when they responded to a scene near Statesville Ave and Ashe Street at 12:13 am.
One male was treated on scene and then transported to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. The second male was transported to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Marquise Leon Dalton, 24, died while he was at the hospital.
Demitree Lenoy Adkins, 23, is still hospitalized.
Police are still investigating the shooting. The State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation.
