Both westbound lanes of Tyvola were blocked as crews worked to remove the tree.

Police told Channel 9 nobody in any of the cars that hit the tree was hurt. One of the drivers actually drove off before police arrived.

Officials said that because the tree stretched some power lines when it fell, Duke Energy was on the way to fix them.

Crews were able to reopen the road around 10 a.m.
