On April 30, 2019, two students were killed and four others were injured when a gunman opened fire in a classroom on campus.
First responders flooded the campus on that tragic day and UNCC honored them for their service at the game.
“This day is extremely important to me, just to show the unification across the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. We’re all one, we’re all one family,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer James Hosea said.
The Charlotte 49ers won against the North Texas Mean Green by one point Saturday.
