NORTH CAROLINA — The uncertainty with schools during the coronavirus pandemic is also driving issues at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Right now, thousands of teenage drivers are in a holding pattern as they wait to finish their driver’s education so they can get their learner’s permit.

Getting your driver’s permit is a big step as a teenager, but thousands across the Charlotte area haven’t been able to finish their driver’s education in order to take the test at the DMV.
