MONROE, N.C. — A big resource for families in Union County, especially this time of year, doesn’t have the space to operate.

The Union County Christmas Bureau started taking applications from families in need on Tuesday. The organization has been working out of the old Sears at Monroe Crossing Mall but this year, two businesses are leasing the space.

Last month, Toys for Tots in Charlotte said it was facing a similar problem. The group is searching for a new warehouse in order to help families this holiday season.

Now, the organization is seeking a place with 15,000 square feet. They need ample parking with room for traffic flow.

If you know of a place, call Union County at 704-283-3500.

Channel 9 reached out Tuesday and the group still doesn’t have a new warehouse. It set Oct. 1 as its deadline because that was the first day nonprofits could apply for assistance.
