RALEIGH — Jason Miller of Monroe celebrated an early birthday surprise by winning $150,000 in a digital instant win lottery game called The Claw on Thursday.
Miller, who played a $30 ticket, hit the jackpot against odds of 1 in 2 million. He claimed his prize on Wednesday, just two days before his birthday.

“I won it two days before my birthday,” Miller said. “It was very surreal. That’s one of my favorite games.”
After federal and state tax withholdings, Miller took home $107,633. He plans to use his winnings to pay some bills and save the rest.
Miller’s unexpected win serves as a reminder that good fortune can strike at any time, as his coworker remarked, “Good things happen to good people.”
