CHARLOTTE — Smoke was seen coming from a University City hotel Sunday morning, which prompted the Charlotte Fire Department to strike a second alarm.
The fire at the UNC Charlotte Marriott was along Robert D. Snyder Road off North Tryon Street.
It was controlled in 45 minutes, Charlotte Fire said. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Charlotte fire investigators deemed the fire accidental. They said it was contained to the exhaust duct work from the kitchen.
Investigators say the fire caused $100,000 in damages.
