CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Some UNC-Charlotte students are worried about recent crimes at the university and this comes one month before the Blue Line extension opens, making the campus more accessible to anyone.

Campus Police Chief Jeff Baker said he's been focused on light rail security for more than four years.
“The university has provided a number of safety resources to ensure safety,” Baker said.
The campus has installed more lights, hired more officers and added multiple cameras.
Two students were robbed on campus last week. The last robbery was three years ago.

Also, a student told police that a strange man assaulted her Feb. 4.

Officials have added more emergency stations where students can call the police for help.
