CHARLOTTE — North Carolina’s primaries are wrapping up Tuesday as voters decide who will represent their parties in this year’s mid-term elections.

7:30 p.m. - Polls have officially closed in the majority of North Carolina, with the exception of Halifax County. Election officials are delaying the release of election results due to a delay in voting hours at one precinct location.
8:30 p.m- Standby for results in North Carolina.
8:40 p.m.- Results are starting to post. 11% of precincts statewide. Roy Cooper has 92% in the Democratic primary. Michael Whatley has 65% in the Republican primary.
8:43 p.m.- With early voting totals posted, Monifa Drayton leads longtime Mecklenburg County D2 Commissioner Vilma Leake by 190 votes.
9:01 p.m.- With 50 of 195 precincts reporting, abolitionist attorney Habekah Cannon leads incumbent Meck District Judge Cecilia Oseguera by 2,408 votes.
9:10 p.m.- With 78 of 195 precincts reporting, Incumbent Sheriff Garry McFadden’s lead over Ricky Robbins is down to 886 votes. Robbins has been outperforming McFadden with posted Election Day voters thus far.
9:21 P.M.- With 13 of 28 precincts reporting, Monifa Drayton leads incumbent Vilma Leake by 267 votes for Meck County District 2.
9:25 P.M.- With 130 of 195 precincts reporting, Sheriff Garry McFadden leads Ricky Robbins by 1,539 votes.
9:44 p.m.- Gaston County Sheriff. With 37 of 40 precincts reporting, incumbent Sheriff Chad Hawkins leads Robbie Waldrop by 713 votes.
10:13 P.M.- With 167 of 195 precincts reporting, Habekah Cannon leads incumbent Judge Cecilia Oseguera by 3,375 votes.
