CHARLOTTE — Center city’s newest high-rise building is complete, with leasing underway now at The Ellis in First Ward.
As CBJ reported when the project broke ground back in 2019, that residential development is notable for its location on the northern end of uptown, which has lagged behind the southern end’s rise in recent years. It’s on North College Street, between Eighth and Ninth streets.

The complex includes two buildings — the 33-story high rise and a six-story midrise — with nearly 550 apartments in total and ground-floor retail space along the Lynx Blue Line.
