U.S. News ranks these public high schools as the best in Charlotte metro

CHARLOTTE — U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking of the nation’s best public high schools found that four in metro Charlotte placed among the top 10 in either North Carolina or South Carolina.

Cato Middle College High School in northeast Charlotte had the highest ranking of any public high school in the metro area. It ranked as the sixth-best public high school in North Carolina, followed by Lake Norman Charter School in Huntersville with a No. 10 ranking in the state.

On the South Carolina side, Fort Mill High School came in at No. 7 on that state’s list of best public high schools. Nation Ford High School, also in Fort Mill, landed at No. 10.
