Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over that scene and could see Baker’s missing 2004 Honda Accord parked behind an abandoned west Charlotte church.
She was initially reported missing Dec. 4. Her car was spotted on surveillance video driving away from her house, at a Cookout on Sugar Creek Road, and later at a Quick N E-Z Food Mart on Lasalle Street.
Family members said Baker called them at 10:30 p.m. to say that she was an hour away but didn’t hear from her again.
Channel 9’s Tina Terry spoke with Wesley Winchester who says Baker was his best friend. He says she was elegant, classy, and will be missed.
“Being her best friend was a privilege and an honor,” he said.
The investigation is now considered a homicide. It is active and ongoing. Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact police.
So far, CMPD has not announced any arrests.
