WADESBORO, N.C. — A 10-inch water main broke early Friday morning in Wadesboro, causing periods of low pressure and outages.
The water main on N. Rutherford Street broke around 2 a.m. Officials estimate service will be restored by around 1 p.m.
Officials said periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for the introduction of bacteria into the water system, so they recommend consumers boil water before using it or use bottled water.
The advisory remains in effect until further notification is issued, officials said.
