CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Channel 9 obtained new search warrants detailing why police took medical files from the offices of a Charlotte doctor accused of sexually assaulting patients.

Dr. Fidelis Edosomwan faces more than 30 charges on second-degree sex offense and sexual battery.

Past coverage:

Documents show the medical records contain evidence of the alleged crimes. The warrants state, "The billing statements will verify if the victims were treated on the dates listed...as well as if the types of exams were billed."

Channel 9 reported last week that police raided Edosomwan's three offices on Milton, West Sugar Creek and Beatties Ford roads.

Authorities arrested Edosomwan in February after two female patients accused him of inappropriately touching them during exams. After his arrest dozens of accusers came forward, with some complaints against him dating back to 1998.

Edosomwan denies any wrongdoing.

Last month former patients, co-workers and ministers spoke out in support of the doctor, saying they don't believe the assaults happened.
